Smart Home Installation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast
Veteran-owned. Installed on-site. Quoted per project.
Smart lights that drop off Wi-Fi, a video doorbell that never records, five different apps that don’t talk to each other: smart homes usually fail because of the network, not the gadgets. 228NetOps installs and sets up smart home devices for homes in Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs and D’Iberville, and because we do IT and networking every day, we make sure your Wi-Fi can actually carry them. Call or text 228-901-2281, Monday–Friday, 8am–9pm, or request a consultation.

What we install and set up
- Smart lighting: LED strips, TV backlights, smart bulbs, downlights and permanent outdoor roofline lighting. See our Govee smart lighting page for the lighting we install.
- Video doorbells and cameras: doorbells and home cameras mounted, connected and set up on your phone. For full systems see security camera installation.
- Smart plugs, switches and scenes: plugs, app setup, scenes and schedules so lights and devices work together from one app.
- Thermostats and sensors: smart thermostats and sensors connected and set up in the app.
- Wi-Fi that can handle it: access points placed for coverage, a separate network for smart devices, and dead spots fixed. See Wi-Fi installation and network setup.
- Wired where it counts: for TVs, cameras and access points we can run cable instead of relying on Wi-Fi. See network cabling.
Why the network comes first
Every smart device is a small computer on your Wi-Fi. A single consumer router in the corner of the house often can’t keep dozens of devices connected, especially through block walls, into garages, or out to the porch and yard. We check coverage before we install, and we put smart devices on their own network so a cheap gadget with weak security isn’t sitting next to your laptops and phones.
On the Coast, outdoor devices also have to deal with salt air, summer heat, humidity and storm-season power hits. We use outdoor-rated gear outside, protect connections, and recommend surge protection. If you want lights, internet and key devices to stay up through an outage, ask about solar and battery backup.
Lighting first, or a whole-home setup
Many customers start with lighting: permanent roofline lights so you never hang string lights again, TV backlights, or under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Others want a doorbell, a few cameras, smart plugs and a thermostat working together. We can do one room or the whole house, and you get a walk-through so everyone in the house knows how to use it.

Smart home installation FAQ
Do you install Govee lighting?
Yes. We install Govee smart lighting indoors and outdoors, including permanent outdoor roofline lights, TV backlights, strips, downlights and smart bulbs. See our Govee smart lighting page.
My smart devices keep going offline. Can you fix that?
Usually it is a Wi-Fi coverage or network problem. We check coverage, fix dead spots and can put smart devices on their own network. Wi-Fi optimization is $250.
How much does smart home installation cost?
Smart home installs are quoted per project after we see your home, because cost depends on the devices, wiring and number of rooms. A service call or diagnostic is $150 and on-site support is $125 per hour.
Will outdoor devices hold up on the Coast?
We use outdoor-rated equipment outside, protect connections and recommend surge protection for storm season.
