What we set up
- Firewall and router configuration: an approved business-grade firewall or router set up with a strong admin password, current firmware and rules that only allow the traffic you need.
- Separate networks: staff, guest and device networks (printers, cameras, point-of-sale) kept apart so one infected laptop or one visitor can’t reach everything else.

- Remote access: safer ways to reach the office from home instead of open ports pointed at the internet.
- Updates and backups: firmware, operating system and software updates, plus backups set up so one failure doesn’t cost you your files.

Why small networks on the Coast get hit
Most break-ins on small networks don’t take a genius. They come through a default password, an unpatched router, a remote-access port someone opened years ago, or a phishing email on a computer that shares a flat network with everything else. A sensible firewall setup, separated networks and regular updates close most of those doors.

Do I really need a business firewall for a small office?
If your office handles customer information, card payments or business email, a properly configured firewall and separated networks are worth it. We will tell you plainly what fits the size of your business.
Can you secure my existing equipment instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. If your current router or firewall is supported and still receives updates, we can configure it properly. If it no longer gets security updates, we will explain why replacing it makes sense.
